Ali Smith

A little bit about Ali.

Ali has been teaching swim lessons for over 15 years. In addition to swim lesson instruction, she has been a lifeguard and coached for several Greater Lafayette Club teams. Ali has a 5-year-old son, Charlie, a husband, Nick, and a husky named Winnie. Ali is a registered nurse who has worked in the operating room for several years. Water safety has always been a passion for Ali, and she wholeheartedly loves helping those have a healthy, confident relationship with the water.

Katie Cockerill

A little bit about Katie.

With over a decade of experience, Katie has taught swim lessons to hundreds of children of all ages and skill levels. Her teaching philosophy goes beyond basic swimming techniques. She sees each lesson as an opportunity to help children grow the confidence and resilience necessary to tackle challenges, overcome fears, and reach their full potential in and out of the pool. She joined Ali’s Swim Academy in June 2022, but she has known Ali for nearly 20 years.

Katie is a marketing specialist with Franciscan Health. She joined the organization after graduating from Purdue University in 2022, and later earned a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Saint Francis in 2024. When she’s not at work or in the pool, Katie enjoys baking for loved ones, spending time outdoors or travelling.
